The Patient Guide, compiled by patients, family and carers and clinically reviewed, is provided to benefit AD patients. The charity's intention is that all AD sufferers receive a copy of the guide, from their Aortic Centre, FREE OF CHARGE.

Story

In August 2022 Duncan had an Aortic dissection while we were away in Cardiff and he was blue lighted to St Barts in London for life saving surgery - he was one of the lucky ones, for firstly surviving the dissection, secondly making it through 9hrs of surgery and finally coming home after 8 weeks in hospital following numerous complications.

When this happened, I had never heard of an aortic dissection and felt totally in the dark with what was happening and what was to come, and then I came across this wonderful charity that were able to provide me with information and support through their various channels, all of this helped me to get the support and help that we as a family needed and to this day they are still supporting.

Duncan passed away on 6 December and instead of flowers at the funeral I’m asking for donations to this amazing charity that are campaigning for more awareness of aortic dissections within healthcare and in general, to help further support the cause and help other families.
