Wessex Cancer Support provides free and local emotional support to anyone affected by cancer in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Clients may have cancer themselves, be adjusting to life after cancer, supporting someone with cancer or be bereaved. We rely on donations to provide this support.

Story

On each of my Chemotherapy cycles, I am working on a song to raise money for the Islands Wessex Cancer Support team. At the end of my treatment I hope to have enough songs for an album called Chemo Nights.

I am just coming to the end of my third cycle and the song I've been working on is "All I want is you" by the Irish Rock Band legends U2. Please click on the YouTube links below to have a listen.

The little flowers pictured in the video are planted in a collapsed wall by my neighbour, who is now clear of Cancer. I have been prayer for her and now she is praying for me. Midway through my third cycle I felt very rough and more than one prayer was said on my knees, especially when trying to sleep, certainly something more precious than gold. My prayers and those of others seemed to have been heard, as I slept unexpectedly well some nights.

Wessex Cancer Support is a charity which relies on donations to provide free and local support to anyone affected by cancer, away from hospital. Every person receives tailored support that best suits their needs. This ranges from counselling to transport which helps patients travelling from the Isle of Wight and Channel Islands get to their hospital appointments.
