Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page which has been set up to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity in memory of my brother, Martyn Sadler.
On the evening of 15 May 2025, a tragic incident at Bicester Motion resulted in the loss of three lives - two firefighters and one member of the public - with two further firefighters sustaining serious injuries. One of the firefighters that lost their life was my brother Martyn.
Martyn lost his life doing the job he was passionate about and proud to serve. He dedicated his career not only to Oxfordshire, but also to Royal Berkshire before moving on to London Fire Brigade - where he was stationed full time.
28.08.2026 would've been Martyns 40th birthday and I feel its only right that we mark the occasion by celebrating his life and achievements, while raising funds for a charity that was always close to his heart. Fire Fighters charity provide vital support to serving and retired members of the UK Fire & Rescue service and their families. They have supported us personally during recent months.
To honour Martyn, I have organised a Black Tie fundraising evening entitled 'A Night for Martyn'. The event will welcome approximately 200 guests, with several local companies having generously discounted or donated their services to make it happen. There will also be a raffle and an auction taking place to add to the fundraising.
This page has been set up so that anybody unable to attend or that would just like to help raise money in Martyns honour can do so too.
