Story
75% of those working in the performing arts will experience career-impacting mental or physical health problems.
BAPAM, the medical charity for the performing arts, delivers unique and essential free health services to support individuals, and works with the sector to help create a healthier and more sustainable creative industry for all.
While a creative career can be immensely rewarding, it also brings specific health challenges, ranging from mental health, musculoskeletal and vocal health to hearing concerns, while common issues such as eyesight and dental health can cause specific problems when performing.
BAPAM supports all those who work in the industry, from musicians and singers to dancers, actors, and circus performers as well as those who work behind the scenes, ensuring they receive the best possible information and training to prevent poor health, and specialist care to aid recovery from career-impacting illness or injury.
