Gaza is 40km long. Around 2 million people live on the Gaza strip and are not allowed to leave despite the ongoing bombing and lack of food, shelter and medical aid. It is estimated that 70% of buildings in Gaza are damaged. The Lancet estimates that 2% of the population have been killed since Oct 7 23 - the vast majority of them women and children.

I will need to swim over 100 lengths each week to complete this task by my birthday on 23 April. On a good week I swim 40 lengths...
