Story
Back in 2014, I went to a school reunion (I was very apprehensive: who doesn't feel a little nervous at these things?!) I was greeted by the lovely Amanda: one of the triplets I went to Primary and Secondary School with. It was like we had only seen each other the day before. She wanted to know all about what I'd been doing and then she shared her Bombshell: Her beloved sister Emma had died 18 months earlier, of MND.
After the Reunion, we stayed in regular touch and then the news reached me that Mandie had also succumbed to the dreadful disease. By now it had also taken their mother. The final blow came shortly afterwards: Vanessa, the remaining Triplet had discovered that she too has it: only 10% of cases are familial, so this is incredibly hard to grasp.
When my friend and fellow A Cappella singer/beatboxer Jonathan said that he was thinking of running the London Marathon, I suddenly decided that it was time that I pushed myself beyond Half Marathons and ran a full one. At the ripe age of 55, it will not be easy and I'm scared, if I'm honest! But having Jonathan to run alongside me will be a huge comfort and I hope I will be for him too. We will carry each other over the finish line if we have to...
Please will you consider sponsoring me? Whatever you can spare, I will be forever in your debt.
Thank you so much for taking the time today to support me.
