We support patients, our people and visitors at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, St. Margaret’s Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. We provide support that is beyond the scope of the NHS, for example purchasing special equipment, improving facilities and investing in vital research.

Story

Hi there beautiful people, thanks for visiting my page.

I am busy training for a trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. I am slightly terrified (well maybe more than slightly) but determined to do this challenge to raise money for the Breast Cancer unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Breast cancer affects too many, including myself. It is heart breaking to lose wonderful women to this cruel disease. I was diagnosed with breast cancer six years ago. I went through the whole gruelling journey of surgery, chemo and radiotherapy and am grateful to be on the other side.

The work at Princess Alexandra helps advance the understanding of breast cancer and treatments, improving outcomes and options, saving lives and enhancing the quality of life for all those affected.

Climbing Kilimanjaro seems a scary challenge. Some of you know I like hiking up a hill but at 5,895 meters, Killy is the highest peak in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world! We will be camping for 8 nights with temperatures sometimes dropping to -20C.

Please support my fundraising efforts. I am self-funding the trip so every penny raised will go to the charity. No donation is too small and will help make a difference.
