Story
This fundraiser is happening alongside Angie's 1st exhibition that follows Angie Aniwura’s journey through illness, spirituality, and renewal. After a hysterectomy in 2013, she turned to Yorùbá spirituality for grounding, and in 2023, breast cancer deepened her need for presence and connection
At its heart are six Ìbejì paintings, created with artist & spiritual healer Lucy SM Johnston, evoking the sacred twin Orisha and the bond between seen and unseen worlds.Yorùbá storytelling by Peju Alatise and the guidance of mentor Jelili Atiku extend this circle.
The Aniwura Collective’s photographs and artworks quietly trace her healing journey. Through this community, her recovery becomes embodied.
Artists: Bénédicte Kurzen, Dotun Adegoeke, Andreyaa Haura , Samson Adedigba, Anthony Adeleye.
MacMillan has also given Angie support throughout her journey and she wanted to give back to the charity
