Story
This May, my husband Roger will be cycling 50 miles to raise funds for ME research UK. Our daughter Lauren has suffered with ME for many years and has been completely bed-bound since 2024 after becoming severe. She requires 24/7 care and at the moment there is no cure or approved treatment. Research is urgently needed to help sufferers who for too long have been neglected and left to suffer on their own. This devastating illness robs sufferers of the ability to undertake even the smallest everyday tasks that we all take for granted. Family members have to take on the role of carer with no support.
Roger is taking on the cycle ride to try and raise funds for research, but also to raise awareness and understanding of this devastating illness and its affects on the sufferer and their family.
We would really appreciate any donation that you can give, however small, as every penny raised makes a difference.
Thank you, Ann.

"....doctors do not treat us and science does not study us. How could a disease this common and this devastating have been forgotten by medicine?" Jennifer Brea
Only biomedical research can find the causes of ME/CFS, improve diagnosis and treatment, and, ultimately, arrive at a cure. That’s why research is our focus.
We've awarded 64 full grants and 5 PhD-level awards since 2000 and invested over £3.5million. But research is expensive and becoming more so every day. That’s the challenge we face, and that’s why we need your help.
