Helen Phillips is raising money for Girlguiding Buckinghamshire
In memory of Ann Phillips
Girlguiding Buckinghamshire is part of the UK’s leading charity for girls & young women. We offer girls & young women in Buckinghamshire a space where they can have adventures, be themselves, gain life skills, discover new opportunities and make a difference to their community & the wider world.

Story

Ann Phillips sadly passed away on 24th May. She will be missed my many.

Since a girl Ann was a keen and committed girl guide.

She was proud to become a Queens Guide, loved camping and the whole girl guide movement.

As a girl guide herself she went on many camps, visited the girl guide chalet in Switzerland and attended the world camp in Windsor Great Park, where she met girl guides from around the world and hosted Sada from Zanzibar.

She set up her first girl guide group in her late teens and ran that until she had children.

After moving to Longwick she established the 1st Longwick girl guides before becoming Princes Risbrough District Commissioner and then Division Commissioner.

Camping, organising fetes and jumble sales and supporting girls were things Ann loved.

After 'retirement' from running her own group, Ann supported other girl guide leaders and helped manage the 'Risbrough girl guide headquarters/hut. She also became an active member of trefoil.

We are collecting money for Buckinghamshire Girl Guides as a tribute to Ann to support guiding in the county for many years to come.
