Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page
Our son Jonny Jones was a kind and caring lad who could light up a room with his smile. He loved travel, music, films, Erik his dog and was passionate about golf. He won the Disabled British Open in 2019 and played for The Phoenix Cup Team in the USA and Scotland.
In his life he gave his all to help and support the people he met, his colleagues, his friends and family. He truly lived with heart.
He spent the last few months of his life being supported in his recovery journey by The Bridges Project in Hull, part of the Forward Trust. He graduated on 1st May this year. He found a lovely studio flat overlooking Pearson Park where he had hopes and plans for the future These included returning to The Bridges to pass on his cooking skills to residents. Sadly Jonny passed away in his flat on 1st July .
He told us that the 6 months he spent at The Bridges allowed him to find himself again, to reconnect with his family and brought him peace. He wanted to give back to The Bridges for the help and support they gave him.
The Forward Trust is a the social business with charitable status. The Bridges in Hull is one of their Recovery Centres. For more than 25 years the Trust has been working with people to build positive and productive lives, whatever their past.
As a family we would like to support The Bridges in Hull and to raise funds in Jonny's memory.
