Story
Please support me in my biggest swim challenge yet! This September I will be taking on the 2 mile swim around the Serpentine in London and I will be fundraising for Whisper; this is an incredible charity that funds a children’s hospital, maternity unit, ambulance service and nursing school in Jinja, Uganda.
The swim Serpentine is especially important to me as my swimming journey only started a few years ago when I learned to swim in 2019 at the age of 42. Since then I have challenged myself to overcome my fears of open water by sea swimming and completing the 1.4 mile pier to pier swim, triathlons and most recently lake swimming as part of my training.
Another motivation to complete the 2 mile swim serpentine is that it forms part of the London Classics. Last year I conquered the Ride London 100 miles bike ride, leaving me the swim and the London marathon to complete the set.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and read my reasons for wanting to take on this challenge. Please support me to conquer this challenge, continue to face my fears and fund raise for Whisper.
