Story
This Sunday 11 May, I will be running the Bristol 10k (my first official run ever!) in memory of my beautiful friend Nikki and in support of St Peter’s Hospice.
For the last year, I have had the privilege of working for this incredible charity and have seen firsthand the dedication, love and care that drives the incredible work they offer. St Peter’s is not just a building where the elderly go to die - it’s a warm, nurturing and holistic community where patients and families of all ages can come together to find comfort during one of life’s toughest journeys.
If you can help me raise awareness just a little bit more and show your support by donating whatever you can, it could mean someone else can face their finals days with dignity, compassion and surrounded by the people that matter the most to them.
Thank you 😊
For you Nikki - you’ll always be in my heart.
The warmth flows through, and darkness arrives.
I’m running at 100mph, but my mind has paused - confused.
I knew you weren’t well, struggling to understand.
I had to build myself up that day, to be strong for you.
I know you would have done the same for me.
But the hole in my chest, it was there.
I wish in a way I’d let you see it more.
I still wonder if I said the right things,
But to me, you were just as beautiful as ever.
Blurred by the present, holding on to the past,
Still gripping at hope for the future.
This can’t be the end.
I hope I’ll see you again.
