Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've never run a marathon before, so this is a big challenge! I'm raising funds for Cancer Research UK in memory of my father, James Filer. Unlike me, he was a natural distance runner and I have memories of standing on Tower Bridge as a child to watch him run the London Marathon (yet again!).

We all know people affected by cancer. My father survived lung cancer, thanks to research and skilled medical staff. I'm supporting Cancer Research UK as I want more people to survive cancer, or have longer with loved ones.

I'll not be chasing my father's sub-3 hour time, but I will remember him as I cross Tower Bridge.
