Story
Alex was so many things - a devoted father, a loving husband, a loyal friend. But to those of us who watched him live with brain cancer for almost five years, he was also the bravest person we knew and a lesson in how to face the unimaginable with strength, humour and an unshakeable refusal to give up on life.
Alex was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2021. Rather than let it define him, he chose to define it - continuing to live fully and show up for the people around him in ways that left us all in awe.
The Tessa Jowell Foundation is a charity close to Alex’s heart. He believed in their mission to transform the treatment and care of people diagnosed with brain cancer, and gave his time and voice to that work right until the very end. Just two months before he died, he sat down with the Foundation to speak openly about what it means to live with brain cancer - with the same candour and courage he brought to everything.
In donating here, you are honouring a man who never stopped living, and helping to ensure that others facing the same diagnosis receive the care and support they deserve.
From Alex’s family - thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
