Walk 500 miles
Members of the Pennine Care Choir will be walking 500 miles in January to raise 500 pounds to support Pennine Care Charity in raising funds for staff wellbeing initiatives.
How does the charity support wellbeing?
Over the last 12 months, the charity has supported Pennine Care Choir and other wellbeing initiatives. The choir began due to an awareness that group singing promotes the release of feel-good hormones. You can learn more about this here:

Staff often hold the difficult feelings of patients that they work with, their work pressures as well as the difficulties that everyday life presents. Members of the group have shared how beneficial the group has been for them:
“The choir is such an uplifting space. Great for my mental health. Singing has so many benefits. I suffer from lived experience of depression-this is like medicine!! After what can sometimes be difficult days when supporting clients with significant difficulties, the choir provides a chance to sing my cares away whilst also having social aspects where we laugh together and unite. Love love love our choir!”
“Before coming to the choir I didn’t think I could sing. Today I sung in front of 400 people!”
