Story
Anyone who knows me knows I am not a runner. I’ve started (and mostly abandoned) Couch to 5k more times than I can count, and in 43 years I’ve only managed to run 5k a handful of times.
So naturally… I signed myself up for the RUN Hereford 10k on Sunday 10th May.
Why? Honestly — a mix of peer pressure, misplaced optimism, and the hope that doing something completely outside my comfort zone might actually do some good.
Back in February I couldn’t run at all. I had to restart Couch to 5k from scratch and then somehow push myself beyond that to reach 10k. It has been a challenge. A real challenge. I’m still not entirely convinced I’ll make it around the course, but that’s exactly the point — to push yourself, to try, and to raise money for a cause that genuinely matters.
I’m running for St Michael’s Hospice, an organisation that supports so many local families with compassion, dignity and care when they need it most.
If you’re able to support me — whether it’s £1 or £20 — I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps St Michael’s continue their amazing work, and it will definitely help get me around those last painful kilometres.
Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can give.
