Story
The Edward Bush Charitable Trust has been established in memory of Ed (Bear) who was tragically killed in a road accident on 4th June 2021.
He was a very special family friend and a kind brave man who had a deep passion for joining the Army. The Trust was created to honour his legacy by supporting serving members of the armed forces, veterans and their families.
On Thursday 5th June my dear friend Mel and I set off on our paddle boards from Lechlade to embark on this mission to reach Henley on Thames, Bear’s local home town.
I chose to paddle board as my knees are not up for running and I know how much Bear enjoyed being on the water, sailing, kayaking ,fishing or simply playing in it as he did with Sam and his brothers when they were younger. We passed many locations that played a part in his life including Bear’s prep school. We made it to Henley over 6 days, roughly 35 hours of paddling passing through 27 locks.
We all miss Bear every day but through the Edward Bush Charitable Trust, his legacy will continue to make a meaningful and lasting difference.
