Story
On June 15, I will be competing in Battle Cancer - a fitness competition where teams aim to complete 20,000 reps across five exercise stations in 90 minutes, while raising money for cancer research and awareness.
My team is competing in honour of several of our family members who we've lost to cancer, including my wonderful nan Betty Duncan who we sadly lost in 2020. We're aiming to raise 1000 euros for the Irish Cancer Society.
About Battle Cancer:
The competition is being held at the RDS, and the fitness stations will include:
- Round one: assault air bike, syncho deadlift, assault rower, synchro burpee, run
- Round two: aassault air bike, synchro dumbell snatch, assault rower, synchro sandbag over shoulder, run.
About cancer in Ireland:
Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people in Ireland dying each year. That's almost 25 people dying from cancer every day across Ireland. An average of 1 person every hour.
The Irish Cancer Society are working towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support.
Your support will help make a difference.
Thank you for any donations!
