Home Start is a national charity, supporting children under 5 and their families. A nurturing, loving, stable family and home environment strongly determine a child’s future life chances. Children whose parents are struggling to cope can miss out on the love, routine and support that are vital for their future. Home Start volunteers work with families by providing bespoke support, they stay for as long as they are needed, enabling children to have the best start in life.

I have chosen to run the Oxford Half Marathon for this charity as my mum is a volunteer Home Start support worker and I know from talking to her, just how much a friendly face and weekly support can change the lives of young children for the better.
