Story

Running for Cathy — London Marathon, April 2026

... this is the story of my dear friend Cathy.

Please help me raise funds for Cure Parkinson’s - a charity working to end Parkinson. I’m running the London Marathon in April 2026 — and I’m running for my friend Cathy.

Cathy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when she was still young. If you met her you’d see immediately why I call her my inspiration: she’s an incredible businesswoman, a devoted mother, a real warrior and — above all — an outrageously good friend. She never complains, never gets bitter, and somehow teaches everyone around her to slow down, notice the small joys, and be grateful. She’s fun, fierce and full of life. I’m lucky to know her and call her my friend.

What is 26.2 miles/ 42.2 km compared to a lifetime living with Parkinson’s? Nothing. And yet to me this run means the world. It’s a celebration of Cathy and our friendship. It’s a way to turn my lifelong passion for running into something that matters: real money for research, better treatments and vital support for people with Parkinson’s.

Cathy will be with me in London. We’ll be there smiling, cheering, and reminding everyone that Parkinson’s can’t steal her light. And surely we will have a drink afterwards.

I’m asking you to join us in whatever way you can — donate, share, shout encouragement from the sidelines, or pass this page to someone who can. Much appreciated.
