Story
On May 15th 2024 I am flying to New York with 124 other Police Officers from Metropolitan Police and other forces to run Half Marathon in Central Park New York to take part in a fundraiser set up in memory of 7 year old Jack Brown.
Each year volunteers from the police family and wider community, push themselves physically to raise money for Joining Against Cancer in Kids (J.A.C.K.).
The research is supported by four charities: J.A.C.K., Solving Kids Cancer UK, Solving Kids Cancer USA & Band of Parents. Children with Neuroblastoma, who meet the trial criteria, are recruited into the trial in the UK, USA & Germany. In the UK, twelve children a year have been undergoing treatment as part of the trial. The assessment of the efficacy of the trial is very positive. The extended support allows another twelve children to enter treatment. This is just one example of where your fundraising goes. Others include supporting families of children with Neuroblastoma to access novel treatments abroad and where necessary, assist them when their plight causes financial hardship.
JACK is a registered charity that helps children with the childhood cancer neuroblastoma. 125 Police officers from the Met and other forces will run Half Marathon in Central Park New York in their uniform. We are paying for our trip ourselves and all money raised will assist the costs of sending children abroad to receive potentially life saving treatment and also to further research into this terrible disease.

Joining Against Cancer in Kids, A charity inspired by the battle of Jack Brown, son of Met officers Richard and Yvonne Brown.
Sadly Jack passed away, but we are still fighting. We want to ensure that the treatments and research into this aggressive cancer are not just for the children whose families live abroad, or whose families can afford them.
We want the cure, and until then we want the best treatments to be available in the UK on the NHS for all families. With your help we can make that happen.
Please give what you can.
Thank you so much for your support and please share!
