Story
On the 6th of April, we will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of our Uncle Carl Hudson, who passed away on 8th December 2022, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Uncle Carl was a funny, kind, and loving man, and above all, he was a true family man who always put his loved ones first. His journey included a wide range of treatments, including experimental drug trials, which gave him extra time to be with his family and cherish those special moments. The program extended his life, improving quality and family time. We’re proud that his contribution led to the FDA UK's approval of the drug for broader use.
We are inspired by the incredible courage and strength shown by our cousins Max and Jack, as well as our Auntie Helen. Their resilience, strength and determination through this difficult time have motivated us to take on this challenge in honour of our Uncle Carl.
Max, in particular, ran his own marathon last October in memory of his dad. His dedication and unwavering commitment have inspired us to follow in his footsteps and take on this half marathon to honour our uncle’s memory.
In memory of him and in support of the people and organisations who gave us hope during those difficult years, we are running the half marathon to raise funds for Dove House Hospice. When Uncle Carl could no longer continue his fight, Dove House stepped in to provide not just outstanding care for him, but also invaluable support to our entire family. This charity relies on the continued support of the community to help the many families who need their services each year.
Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated to help them continue their vital work.
Thank you for your support and for helping us honour Carl’s memory.
