Story
Hi
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Im raising money for Parkinsons UK, for the love and support of my close friend whose father is suffering with this evil disease.
Im setting myself the challenge to run off road over the mighty Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.
The route I've chosen includes parts of the Beacons Way, with lots of ups and downs and lovely towns to refuel. My father and boyfriend will be my support team and my wonderful lurchers will join me for certain sections of the route. I plan to run the easy bits and strut the hard bits in style over two days with the aim to do approx 40 miles per day.
I hope my challenge will persuade you to donate on my behalf and I thank you in advance for your love and support.
Im aiming for the weekend of the 12th July for my challenge.
UPDATE
12th July - The hot weather being 30 degrees this weekend resulted in starting at Abergavenny at 3am, I gave it everything I had because I didnt want to postpone the challenge again.
I started in Abergavenny at 3am climbed up to the Skirrid which was the first Hill down to Llanfihangel Crucorny then climbed up to Llanthony Priory, then a monstrous climb up to Bal Bach and down a long lovely hill with stunning views into the valley past Garn Wen beautiful church St Issui then another long climb up to Crug Mawr and finally down to Llanbedr. The sun was dangerously hot by this time, 10am, so I called it a day.
It wasn't as far as originally planned totalled 23 miles but it was definitely a challenge with the early start and pushing myself to get as many hills and miles before the predicted sun reached 30 degrees.
I feel very proud of myself and my brilliant dad as support vehicle. Thank you dad.
Im now deciding whether to accept the challenge for what I could manage given the heat, or try again in a few weeks, cant decide.
Thank you so much for the sponsorship, im very grateful for the support for Parkinsons cause.
Anna xx
