Story
900 miles. 10 days. Cycling, running & swimming across the UK.
All to support young people rebuilding life after cancer.
In July 2026, I’ll be taking on the biggest endurance challenge of my life — a 10-day, point-to-point journey across the UK using three disciplines: cycling, running and open-water swimming. The route will connect Teenage & Young Adult cancer treatment centres, covering around 900 miles entirely under my own steam.
I’m doing this to mark 10 years of MOVE Against Cancer — the charity that I work for day to day that supports young people aged 13–30 to rebuild their physical and emotional wellbeing after cancer. As a Cancer Rehabilitation Specialist, I’ve seen first-hand the difference that truly personalised support, community, and safe movement can make. Watching young people fight to regain their strength, identity, and independence at such a pivotal point in their lives after cancer has really changed me and this project is my way of honouring them in a small way.
None of this would be possible without a growing team of incredible supporters. I’m proud to be working with POC for cycle kit, Dan from Club Coaction guiding my training, M Heath Mechanical Services on logistics and several local partners who are helping make the preparation achievable. Their belief in the challenge and in MOVE’s mission means the world, and their support is helping drive awareness far beyond what I could achieve alone.
So why does it matter?
MOVE’s programmes are free, accessible nationwide, and really, lifelines for the young people who use them. Demand is huge which shows the value in what we do and we need help to be able to support all the young people that need it.
This challenge is going to be tough. Long days, early mornings, tired legs, and long hours in the saddle — but every mile will be worth it if it helps more young people access the support they deserve.
How your donation can help...
If we work towards this fundraising target together it can be enough to fund at least 6 more young people to access MOVE’s free cancer rehabilitation support while also helping to enhance our accessibility and continuing to streamline our processes to enable us to, in time, reach hundreds more young people each year within the online programme to build the next 10 years of MOVE’s impact.
Any amount — small or large — makes a genuine difference.
If you can support the challenge, I’d be incredibly grateful.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing the page or following the journey still helps enormously.
Every bit of support, every share, and every partner involved spreads our message even further.
Thank you so much for being part of this and for helping MOVE continue their life-changing work.
