In a matter of weeks, some of my good friends and I are taking on a 26 mile Mighty Hike along the picturesque Northumberland coastline to raise money for people living with cancer.

I will be walking each one of the 26 miles for a beautiful girl Katie, who is my cousin, Jen’s, lifelong best friend. Katie is facing cancer for the second time in 7 years at the age of only 34. Several weeks ago, Katie was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, with tumours in both her liver and her lungs.

This has come only 18 months after Katie, and her husband Raz, became parents to a beautiful baby boy, Oliver. She has started the journey again with such strength and bravery and we, as a family, are in awe of her determination. Katie is surrounded by her wonderful family and amazing close friends too.

I have pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. It could go towards funding a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
