Little Larch Nursery (previously Leith St Andrew's Playgroup) is an outdoor community early learning and childcare setting, providing high quality affordable childcare, aimed at children 2-5 years old where they can come and play and learn in a safe and stimulating environment. It's run by a voluntary committee, manager Louise Kelly, and 5 fully qualified practitioners. They are passionate about outdoor learning and the benefits it has on children's health, wellbeing and development in comparison to a traditional setting.
To help them provide more facilities to the kids, a group of volunteers will be helping them remodel their facilities in Restalrig, Edinburgh this summer. I'm helping them with design and build of a ''construction shed'' where children will be able to connect with their inner architect. We are able to source some materials for free thanks to support of local suppliers, but we would appreciate your help with anything else that will have to be purchased.
