Story

I’m running the Great North Run half marathon in September this year and after debating if I should run for a charity or not, I’ve decided to run for Dementia UK. I have lost family members very close to me who suffered from dementia and would like to help support other families who experience this.

Did you know every 3 minutes someone develops dementia? Or that 1 in 2 of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime? When somebody develops dementia, it doesn’t just impact the person with the diagnosis, everybody around them is impacted in some way. Dementia UK helps provide free advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. As experts in the condition, their tailored, life-changing support helps families through the fear and confusion of dementia. They are there when people impacted by the condition need them most, which is why I am helping raise money for them.

DO NOT feel obligated to donate because cost of living is a nightmare. But if you have a spare few pennies, anything and everything is so appreciated. Thank you💜
