Anna Schoenleber-Wood is raising money for Wild Welfare

The Big Half 2025 · 7 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

We have a team of ten valiant runners taking part in The Big Half Marathon on Sunday 7th September 2025 to raise vital funds to improve captive animal welfare around the world where it's most needed.

Story

This September I am running as part of team #welfare as a warrior to be a voice for captive animals across the globe!

Running my first half marathon is such a milestone for me as it is something that I have wanted to do ever since I entered my first running event in September 2024, The Faversham 10k.

This half marathon will be my sixth ever race, with my racing history consisting of

- The Faversham 10k

- Ashford District 10 Mile

- Victoria Park 10k

- Whitstable & Herne Bay 10k

- Maidstone 10 mile

Being able to run for Wild Welfare for such a personally important event is such an honour. I am beyond pleased to be part of their team this year, raising money for such a good and important cause.

Right now thousands of animals are suffering in captivity globally. Wild Welfare is working tirelessly to end this and improve animal welfare. Through sharing skills and knowledge they support animal care staff to create both immediate and long-term change, positively transforming the well-being of the animals in their care.

Any donations, no matter how big or small are welcome, as with every penny, you are positively contributing to a captive wild animals life, leading them to lead better lives.

Thank you so much!
