Story
On 25th April 2027, I will be running the London Marathon in loving memory of my husband, Nigel Stanford, and in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
Nigel was a much-loved husband, father, brother and friend to so many. He fought a long and incredibly brave battle with prostate cancer for seven years before sadly passing away in December 2023.
Throughout his illness, Nigel never lost hope. His strength, courage and positivity in the face of such a difficult disease were truly humbling. Everyone whose life Nigel touched speaks of his gentle nature, kindness and dry wit — qualities that left a lasting impression on so many people. He is deeply missed every single day.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That means countless families facing the same heartbreak, uncertainty and challenges that ours did. By running this marathon, I hope to raise money for vital research, better treatments and support for men and families affected by prostate cancer.
Every donation, no matter how small, will mean so much and will help make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support.
