Story

CHIPEMBELE'S STUDENT CONSERVATION CLUBS

Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust in Zambia is 25 years old this year! Since its small beginnings back in 1998, Chipembele has grown and developed into one of the most impactful conservation education organisations in Zambia. Yet funding is still its biggest challenge. The core work remains teaching students in its Conservation Clubs - and it's where many of Zambia's current conservation leaders established their roots. Yet we urgently need more funds to continue supporting this vital work.

Chipembele Trust in the UK is aiming to raise $12,500 to help run Chipembele in Zambia's 40 school Conservation Clubs this year. We are also aiming to achieve match funding for that, making a total of $25,000. We need your help!

$25,000 equates to $625 (£525) per Club. For each Club it would enable us to:

* Run 20 conservation sessions, with lessons and activities, led by our experienced Community Conservation Educators and each lasting 2 hours

* Provide each student in the Club (average 30) with a motivational wrist band, branded with a conservation message

* Provide each Club with 25 indigenous tree seedlings to plant in their school grounds

* Pay for student activities, prizes and certificates in an expansive deforestation campaign

Another 25 years is beckoning! Every donation counts and will help us achieve our funding goal. Everything raised will be spent directly on the project and help us to ensure we can support the next generation of Zambia's conservationists, who in turn will be working hard to protect the country's incredible wildlife and habitats.
