Story

This page has been updated by our family in loving memory of Mum / Jules, following her passing.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has already shown their support through previous donations - some of which Mum was happily surprised (and touched) to be able to read. We wanted to continue this page as a space for anyone who wishes to donate in her name to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The Royal Marsden supported Mum/ Jules throughout her brave six-month battle with cancer. We ask that any support be directed through this page to help continue improving the lives of everyone affected by cancer.

Mum/ Jules’ page will help ensure The Royal Marsden’s world-leading nurses, doctors, and researchers can continue providing exceptional care and developing life-saving treatments used across the UK and around the world. Before her diagnosis, Mum/ Jules had never needed their support- but it soon became clear to her, and to us, just how extraordinary and essential this charity truly is.

It was Mum/ Jules’ wish that the charity which supported and cheered her on continues to grow- funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research that can save others’ lives.

Although The Royal Marsden couldn’t beat the bastard this time (excuse the language!), they never stopped creating the most caring and supportive environment for Mum/ Jules and our family. We want to thank Mum/ Jules’ incredible multidisciplinary team at The Royal Marsden; their dedication, personal touch, and extraordinary compassion kept her spirit shining, even through the toughest days. For that, we will be forever grateful.

Love, the Sadlers & McCanns.

______________

All of Jules’s O2 friends wanted to give something as a recognition of thanks to her for everything she did at work in both a professional and personal capacity. Julie suggested that if we wished to contribute to something, supporting the two charities that have been instrumental in helping her and her family would be the most meaningful thing we could do.

The Royal Marsden has provided exceptional care and support throughout Julie’s journey — from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.

To all of us who had the privilege of working with Jules, she is the most extraordinary leader we’ve known: kind, caring, generous, intelligent, and truly inspiring. Her impact went far beyond delivering results. During her time at O2, Julie achieved some of the highest employee engagement scores in the organisation and this was a result of the way she genuinely connected with people, cared deeply, and brought out the very best in everyone. She is one of a kind and has touched so many of our lives.

In the last couple of days there have been countless reflections from colleagues:

“She’s the best boss I’ve ever had.”

“She’s an inspirational leader.”

“She’s a truly amazing human being.”

These words echo the admiration and affection we all feel towards Jules and we want Jules to know that we are all thinking of her and her loving family at this devastatingly sad time. We are sending the Sadler family our heartfelt love, prayers, strength, and unwavering support during this time.

Both charities Julie has chosen have been a lifeline for Julie and her family, and continue to offer unwavering support.
