Story

Would you like to read something not written by Chat GPT? Let’s start here then 😊...

You may ask “Why would I want to abseil down Lloyd’s of London?” (specially as I am scared of heights) Well, It is a synonymous landmark in the history of the Insurance Industry where I have made a career for myself! I believe that this industry offers opportunity, friendship, community and chance. Chance that you may not find in other work places…

I believe in chance, which is why I selected ‘Joining Hands Joining Hearts’ as the charity I’d like to support throughout this crazy quest! Those who know me will know I struggle to make up my mind so we are also doing this in collaboration with ‘The Community Driving School CIC’ too!

So who are these amazing organisations?

‘Joining Hands Joining Hearts’ is a domestic abuse support charity, helping those who need it & when they need it most. ‘The Community Driving School CIC’ helps people drive towards brighter opportunities by supporting those who may not otherwise be able to support themselves whilst learning to drive & gain new employment. Both amazing causes, but it just keeps getting better…

See, these amazing organisations have teamed up to create ‘The Keys to Freedom.’ This is where those escaping domestic abuse can learn to drive therefore be given keys to independence and a brighter future.

Think about how much you use your car, how often do you drive away without thinking how lucky we are to have this ability. And car ownership is expensive, we know we need to work to afford a car. Now consider running away, without a car? Needing a fresh start and not having the luxury of packing up your things in your car to do just that… It is a cause I want to support. A cause I believe in.

I need a minimum of £250 to carry out this challenge, this crazy thing that I have set for myself – because I am terrified of heights and I am scared of falling. But, last July I brought my own house and I drove my car to pick up my keys in order to begin my fresh start under positive circumstances. I’d be jolly honoured to help someone else do that when they might have fear of falling. Last year at times, I was out of my comfort zone for me – this year I want to be out of my comfort zone for Keys; Keys to Freedom. Let’s see if we can raise way more than £250 for these small charitable causes where a high percentage of your money will go directly to those who need it.

If you want to come and cheer me on then drop me a line, it’d be great to see you there & thank you so much for reading, supporting, caring and always cheering me on.

Now I just need to find the courage to actually hop over the side of the building 289ft up!! Wish me luck 😊😊
