Story

I'm running the Chester Marathon this October and raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity through Northern Joe's Fund.

Brain tumours have sadly affected people close to me, which is why I’ve chosen this cause. My boyfriend John's cousin, Joe, passed away in 2020 after a battle with a brain tumour. More recently, my amazing step-mum’s brother passed away following his second Brain tumour diagnosis

While I didn’t know them both well personally, I’ve seen the impact their loss has had on the people around me — and it’s something that’s really stayed with me. Joe’s story in particular highlights how difficult these tumours can be to detect early, and how crucial it is to improve diagnosis and support for families going through this.

Northern Joe’s Fund was set up by Joe’s family as a way to honour his memory and help others facing similar situations. The fund supports The Brain Tumour Charity’s work — from vital research to improving awareness and care for those affected.

If you’re able to support me with a donation, big or small, I’d be so grateful.

Thank you 💙
