Dedicated to the memory of Rod Smith

Rod died on Grisedale Hause on Thursday 26th December 2024 on his 77th birthday. He was a keen mountaineer and inspired in us a love of the hills - in particular the Lakeland Wainwrights. In Rod's memory Annabel, Richard, Gill and Emily are going to climb the three highest peaks in the UK, on consecutive days, this summer, and by doing so hope to raise money for the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team.

‘The fleeting hour of life of those who love the hills is quickly spent, but the hills are eternal. Always there will be the lonely ridge, the dancing beck, the silent forest, always there will be the exhilaration of the summits.
