Much as I enjoy a glass of wine after a long day, I have decided to abstain from this pleasure and not drink any alcohol during the period of Lent (6+ weeks) from 5th March till 19th April, breaking my 'fast' on Easter Sunday. I will donate the money I save from not buying wine or other alcoholic drinks to the 'Save St Thomas Hall' appeal. Our local church hall is in urgent need of repair and renovation.
