Annabel's 'Three Fall Challenge' skydive with her grandfather, for the RNLI

'Three Fall Challenge' skydive with her grandfather, Chris Copeland, in aid of the RNLI · 14 July 2023
My grandfather, Chris Copeland, served in the British Army's 7th Parachute Regiment (RHA) and continues to skydive solo to raise money for the RNLI, as Chair of their Sherborne branch in Dorset.
To coincide with my grandfather's 80th birthday in July this year, he will make his 800th jump, and I am going to join him.
I am raising money for the RNLI, a cause that my whole family really believes in. Like many people, we are swimmers and sailors who love the sea but know the dangers of unpredictable currents and changeable weather.
As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.
RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They are the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators work tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.
My grandfather set up a fundraising initiative called "Three Fall Challenge" (he free falls solo with someone, like me, doing a tandem jump, hence 'three fall') and he has raised money this way over several years. This year is a special one though. I'm proud to be joining him for his 800th jump, and very grateful for any money you can spare to support this cause.
