I’m running the London Marathon 2024 in aid of Thalassaemia. Thalassaemia is the name for a group of inherited conditions that affect a substance in the blood called haemoglobin. People with thalassaemia produce either no or too little haemoglobin, which is used by red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body. This can make them very anaemic
The UK Thalassaemia Society (UKTS) aims to improve the lives of people living with thalassaemia. The society support not only the affected individuals and families themselves, but also a broader network of medical and educational professionals involved in their care.
