Story
I have seen first-hand the profound impact that living with allergies can have. Within my own family, we have experienced severe eczema, mulitple food allergies, allergic asthma, and episodes of anaphylaxis, as well as living with the ongoing risk it brings. As an Allergy Nurse Specialist, I supported families living with allergies for more than a decade, and throughout that time Allergy UK remained a constant source of trusted advice, support and reassurance, a vital lifeline for so many.
Now, working for Allergy UK, I see every day just how far reaching its impact truly is. The charity continues to make a meaningful difference to the lives of individuals and families affected by allergic disease across the UK.
Thank you for supporting this event and for your generous donation. Your contribution helps Allergy UK continue providing essential support, information and advocacy for those living with allergies.
‘Thank you so much. Just talking with you at Allergy UK makes me feel like I am not alone with my son’s allergies.’ - Parent, feeling less isolated.
‘A year ago, with my new-born I had no idea what cow's milk protein allergy was and how to navigate the NHS service to get the help I needed in my sleep deprived state. I called this helpline several times and every time the other person on the line was so patient, gentle, and helpful. It meant so much to me as a new Mum’. - Parent, relied on Helpline.
‘Thank you to you all and everyone that helped us at such a difficult time. You're such a vital service for people who just can't get any other support or anyone to listen’. - Parent, whose child was referred to our Dietitian Service when they couldn’t get help elsewhere.
