Anne Fletcher, Jane Rigby, Joan Pearson, Raji Menon

Anne, Jane, Joan and Raji are hoping to complete the 10k Starlight Hike taking place in Otley (Leeds) on the evening of Saturday 5th October.

(Anne's husband Ian will be volunteering as a Marshall at the event.)

We will be walking in memory of Anne's daughter Marie who was cared for by the Wheatfields Sue Ryder team whilst at home and subsequently during her time spent in Wheatfields Hospice up until her death in February 2023. Her husband and two young sons, now aged 5 and 3, have continued to benefit from a bereavement support service offered by the Sue Ryder team.

We will also be walking in memory of Joan's husband John who died in March 2023.

Each of the four of us will be thinking of those we have known and loved and are no longer with us. We will also be thinking of those people we know, of whom there are many, who are currently facing serious health challenges.

As we walk and celebrate the memory of special people in our lives we do so in the hope that we can raise much needed funds for the Sue Ryder Charity, with the money raised going to the Wheatfields team based in Headingley.

We do not want to imagine a world in which care of the kind provided by the dedicated and compassionate Sue Ryder teams is no longer available. So join us please as we remember and celebrate our loved ones and as we contribute to the continuation of this valuable and much appreciated service.
