I started running in 2019 after a friend organised a sponsored 10k for Ty Hafan in memory of her beautiful daughter.

Having not run since school (some 30+ years ago) the challenge felt immense. A gang of us Mums ran together after school drop off and then came the rollercoaster of 2020 (which none of us need reminding about). We completed the 10k challenge in 2023 and by then my running regime was truly cemented!

I have since run a few 10k’s and the Cardiff Half Marathon twice and was looking for a new challenge……

I am pleased to be fundraising for Cats Protection as I have been on a lovely journey with them.

My daughter is absolutely mad about cats, her first encounter was on a family holiday in West Wales where Jeff the Cat befriended her at age 3 and was almost glued to her side for the entire week. We would come home from days out to find him waiting to greet her and would then be by her side.

We then went on to foster and rehome 5 cats with Cats Protection and we adopted our last foster, Mr Tom who has been with us since 2019.

He was feral when he was brought into them and came to us after a few months of care. The cattery setting didn’t suit him, he needed the peace and safety of a family.

7 years on he is a happy and healthy 15 year old boy, who is very affectionate and loving.

Your donation means that more cats like Mr Tom who are in desperate need of finding their forever homes are looked after and cared for.

It will help with funding their everyday care such as food, vaccinations and any health care and dental needs they have. It gets them on the right road to finding their forever home and enjoying a life of happiness and love ❤️
