Story
My dad, Jim Foley passed away from cancer last June. He always wished for a star to be shining down from the mountain we live on, Sliabh Coillte, outside New Ross in Wexford. Last year my husband Patrick built a star and put it on top of the mountain. That was my dad's last Christmas. This year he built a bigger star and set it up again. It stretched 6 metres from the ground to the top of the mountain.
Last year people loved the star and many asked if it would be up this year. We want to use the opportunity to raise money to support the nursing staff of The Irish Cancer Society, who do amazing work supporting families all over the country, every day.
It would mean a lot to Dad to see his star bring about such a positive outcome.
