Annie's Amsterdam Marathon for Brainstrust

Anne Perry is raising money for Brainstrust

Amsterdam Marathon 2026 · 18 October 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We help people diagnosed with a brain tumour. We aim to give everyone diagnosed access to the resources that will put them back in control. We enable brain tumour patients and carers to become resilient and to utilise brain tumour support resources from all providers to their full potential.

Story

In the UK, 79 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumour every day*.

Kim Borthwick is one of those people. I first met Kim as a business owner on the same retail park I have my business. I remember one of the first conversations I had with her was about miscarriage (and interior design) and I loved her openness. She then came to my pregnancy yoga class over Zoom during covid times when she was pregnant with her twins. She is now a Mum to two boys and dealing with a terminal brain tumour diagnosis. Her openess with her journey is what has inspired me to choose the charity that has supported her on her journey so far.

Brainstrust ensures that no one has to face a brain tumour diagnosis alone. The charity provides personalised support, trusted information and practical resources to help people living with a brain tumour, as well as their families, feel less alone and more in control.

I appreciate any pennies you can donate as I undertake this challenge of running my first marathon, which is nothing compared to the challenge and fight Kim is showing every day. Thank you for supporting my fundraising and helping brainstrust continue this vital work.

*On average, 79 people hear the “you have a brain tumour” each day: 44 with metastatic & 35 with primary diagnosis.
