Story
I’m walking the Kiltwalk to raise funds for TweedStart – a project I support through my work with the Tweed Foundation, and one that means a great deal to me personally.
TweedStart gives young people across the Scottish Borders the chance to explore the River Tweed, learn to fish, and discover the incredible countryside around them — often for the very first time. With support from our brilliant Education Officer, Ben McCallum, and a fantastic team of volunteers, we take learning outdoors, helping children build confidence, spark curiosity, and feel connected to nature.
As someone who has experienced the physical and mental health benefits of fishing myself, I know how transformative it can be — especially for young people navigating today’s challenges.
The funds I raise will help us:
Provide essential kit like rods, reels, waders, and lifejackets.
Support our outreach and school sessions across the Tweed catchment.
And importantly, help us recruit an additional Education Officer so we can meet growing demand and reach even more children.
Please sponsor me if you can. Every step I take is for the next generation of river lovers, anglers, and outdoor explorers.
Thank you so much
