Story
We are walking 10km from Lloyd Park in Croydon to Croydon University Hospital on Sunday 14 September to help build a new sensory garden for patients living with dementia.
The garden will bring a piece of home to hospital, transforming part of the Hospital into a much-needed, therapeutic garden for elderly patients and those with a dementia diagnosis, who are receiving care in Croydon.
As well as supporting physical recovery, the garden will offers a therapeutic environment for patients, helping to reduce stress and improve their overall wellbeing, as well as offering a welcoming, calming space for families, allowing them to connect with loved ones, recount old memories and reminisce in a serene and supportive non-clinical space.
Anne works for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust as a Children's Epilepsy Nurse Specialist.
