Story
In September 2025 my dad was diagnosed with a terminal glioblastoma - a cruel brain cancer with no cure. The prognosis is devastating: average survival is just 12–18 months, and only 5% of patients live five years or more. In a short time, it has already taken his speech, partial mobility, and so many of the things that make him… him.
On the 8th March my family, friends and I will be walking 7km in his honour, to stand with him, raise awareness, and for the challenges he faces everyday.
Brain tumours are one of the deadliest cancers, yet they receive only 2% of all cancer research funding. Your donation can fund vital research, support families like mine, and bring hope where it’s needed most.
Every step I take in this Twilight Walk is for my dad and every pound you donate brings us closer to treatments that could save lives. Please help if you can.
I’m walking for families like mine - families thrown into a world of uncertainty, fear, and loss, forced to witness a loved one’s fight against a disease that steals so much, so quickly. Walking for my dad feels like a small way to turn grief into action, and to hold onto hope for families facing the same challenges.
The money raised will go to The Brain Tumour Charity, funding vital research and support. That includes:
-Supporting research into better treatments for glioblastoma and other brain tumours
-Funding clinical trials, so new therapies reach patients faster
-Improving diagnosis and personalised care
-Providing support for families navigating this devastating journey
By supporting this walk, you’re helping give families more time, more options, and more hope than we’ve had. Every step and every donation counts - because no family should have to face the cruelty of brain tumours alone.
If you can donate or simply share this page, It will help the Brain Tumour Charity continue their work in fight for a cure.
Thank you x
