In memory of my amazing and sorely missed husband Ian, who left us in October 21 suddenly when he suffered a large heart attack. He was only 55. We both enjoyed mountain biking, and only last year in July, renewed our vows on our 30th wedding anniversary at the beginning of Top Chief on Ben Nevis before tacking the first bit and joining Blue Doon further down. We enjoyed each other's company and loved the outdoors. We were the best of friends, and also worked for the same company together for the last 19 years. His loss was devastating.

The reason I am doing this ride, is I know if he were here now, and saw this ride was available - he would be signing up as he supported British Heart Foundation for his mum Doreen whom he lost 2 years ago.

I feel it only fitting to do this for him, as a tribute to him and to show him I haven't given up on the things we loved to do together.

He did not deserve to be taken from us so early in his life, he was a true gentleman who always tried to help people as much as he could. He is sorely missed by many, and is loved.
