Story
On my 60th birthday, I decided to take on a challenge I never imagined would be possible and signed up for my first half marathon at Kew Gardens, London on 29th March, giving myself a year to train. Training through the dark, cold winter months has been tough, and there have been many times when I’ve questioned what I’m doing - so a huge thank you to my children, who have been so supportive and inspirational to me.
I’m running to raise money for musical instruments for the children at Duncton Junior School, where I teach piano. The school currently has no keyboards, so this fundraising would make a huge difference. Money raised will be used to buy Bluetooth keyboards with headphones, allowing children to connect to their iPads and use GarageBand in class, making music lessons creative, inclusive and fun.
As a teacher and mum, this matters deeply to me. Access to instruments can have a lasting impact on children’s confidence and give them a lifelong gift of musical enjoyment.
Any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated and will make a real and lasting difference.
Thank you so much for your support 🎹 ❤️
