Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Your support means the world to us as a family.
5 years ago our mum was diagnosed with Dementia. Over the years we have seen this cruel disease slowly take effect on both my mum and our family. Mum is sadly now in the latter stages of dementia and requires round the clock care. We have found a lovely local nursing home which she currently resides in which is filled with love and care and all the staff at the home are superheroes in my eyes.
Update: sadly mum passed away on the 6th January very peacefully with her family around her.
So together with my sister, Sue and my brother in-law, Paul we are walking the 100km Gower challenge for her and others affected by dementia so one day we can eradicate this illness.

We expect the challenge to take us 30 hrs to complete whilst covering 100km distance and elevations of 2500m.

This is by far the biggest challenge I certainly have undertook in my life, however after seeing first hand the devastating effect this cruel disease takes, the 30 hrs of pain, grit and determination will be worth it if we can raise some money for a brilliant dementia charity.
