Story
I'm sure that if you're taking the time to read this, you don't need me to tell you about the amazing work of our National Youth Orchestra.
Personally, I'm absolutely sure I wouldn't be doing what I am now if it hadn't been for the music-making, the lifelong friends, the incredible teaching, and the care I benefited from in my time at NYO. I will always be grateful for this.
Much more importantly, however, the orchestra today impacts so many more young musicians than just its members. By taking its music around the UK through its Inspire programme, NYO benefits not just those who take part but also the wider sector and audiences everywhere. There is rarely a more joyful and uplifting concert than those given by the teenage musicians of the NYO.
It's a very difficult time at the moment for the classical music industry in the UK, and the NYO is one of those organisations that helps us all to feel a little bit more hopeful for the future.
If you know me at all, you'll know that I am not a natural sportsperson and certainly the training for this marathon hasn't been easy (and I'm barely halfway through!). Thank you for helping me to feel a little more motivated by supporting the National Youth Orchestra. Any donation at all is hugely appreciated. Thank you!
